Frank was offered replacement clothing on Sunday March 9th and almost immediately asked the uniformed officer
at the cell door that Basil Mellon (Frank's solicitor) be informed. Within minutes of this request he was
taken to an interview room by Detective Inspector Brian Ord and Detective Sergeant Ramshaw. No record was
made at this point of the request to see his solicitor. Instead, there was a long interview, during which
Ramshaw supposedly took contemporaneous notes.
Frank maintains that the first part of the interview was taken up by exactly this issue: police failure to
write down any kind of record of what was being said.
