On the night of the murder, Wood was alleged to have been wearing the following: A pair of brown wool gloves (JH194) was found in the boot of Wood's car. These were the only articles of Wood's clothing that were forensically examined, but although they were found to have human bloodstains, they were not given a fibre comparison test, nor was the blood tested. They have disappeared from police safekeeping.

A blue thermal jacket or jerkin type garment was found in Wood's hallway (police reference number JH133). It was never sent for forensic examination and has since disappeared.

A pair of brown steel toe-capped work boots (JH148) were also found in Wood's kitchen. They were not sent for forensic examination.

A pair of blue fingerless gloves (JH163) was found at Wood's home identical to those used as evidence against Frank. They were not sent for forensic examination and have since disappeared.
