At the request of the police, Eddie set off in an unmarked police vehicle in the company of Detective
Inspector Ord, Detective Sergeant Ramshaw, Detective Sergeant Atkinson and Detective Constable Pooley. He
directed them to Coldstream and the Hersel Golf Club, where he repeated his story about the proposed
burglary.
He then directed the police to the Kielder Forest, on to Forest Drive and the vicinity where the body was
found. Eddie signed a police record of the trip as being correct.
